Forbes magazine awarded Santa Barbara-based humanitarian aid nonprofit Direct Relief International a perfect 100 score in the “fundraising efficiency” category for the seventh year in a row. Only one other charity in the nation received a perfect score in the same category. Direct Relief also earned a score of 99 for its “charitable commitment,” which measures the percentage of total expenses that goes straight to the charitable purpose.
