Do you have a great idea for a business but don’t know how to get started? Women’s Economic Ventures can help; twice a year WEV offers start-up training through its intensive Self-Employment Training (SET) program. The 14-week, 56-hour course teaches budding entrepreneurs how to begin, operate, and/or expand a business. Participants get week-by-week training in organizing, financing, marketing, and managing a small business, and leave the course with a completed business plan. Topics discussed include finances, marketing and sales strategies, public relations and advertising advice, legal and insurance issues, and record keeping. SET is one night a week for three hours, and includes two full Saturdays.
