Steve Pappas’s contest to November’s election got off to a slow start on Tuesday, February 17, as he sought to prove voter fraud in his 3rd District supervisor election loss to Doreen Farr. During testimony of County Registrar of Voters Joe Holland, Farr attorney Fred Woocher made numerous sustained objections, claiming Pappas attorney Jeffrey Lake was asking “the same question a million times” and falsely recalling the testimony of the witnesses. Holland deferred many questions about the elections process to members of his staff, but recalled to the court Lake’s “boasting fraud to the media” before ever contacting Holland’s office. Holland said to this day he has “yet to see any evidence” that anything was done wrong.
