On 6/6, 14-year-old Santa Barbara teen Thomas Jessop set out on a cross-country bike ride to raise money for homeless housing and the New Beginnings Safe Parking program. He says he hopes to collect $10,000 in donations by the end of his 3,200-mile trip, which will take him to St. Petersburg, FL. He will also be competing in five races along the way, and has been training for IronKid races for the last couple of years. Planning on covering 70 to 100 miles a day, Jessop will be followed by his dad and brother in their car, and hopes to one day turn the ride into an official road bike race course.
