It seems like a natural fact of wine life in the region, so it’s hard not to be excited for the 22nd Annual Santa Barbara Wine Festival, which happens Saturday, June 26, 2-5 p.m. They got here first, so they snagged the simplest, most direct name, and today festival-goers get to wander the oak- and redwood-shaded paths behind the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History while enjoying the best wines the area has to offer, along with more luscious nibbles than one might expect at a wine event. Among the 75 participating wineries are Alma Rosa, Au Bon Climat, Beckmen, CORE, D’Alfonso-Curran, Foxen, Jaffurs, Palmina, Qupé, Tablas Creek, tercero, and Tolosa. Among the 22 food purveyors are C’est Cheese, Christine Dahl, Hollister Brewing Company, Jessica Foster Confections, Michael Hutchings, Renaud’s, and the Stone House. It’s pretty much impossible not to eat, drink, and be history, in a very natural way, of course. Tickets are $60 for members and $85 for nonmembers if you purchase by Friday, June 25, at 5 p.m. Tickets at the door, if available, will all be $95. Call 682-4711 x443, email mmoore@sbnature2.org, or see sbnature.org/tickets.
