SHORT STORIES

The Santa Barbara Jewish Film Festival is now accepting submissions for their newly created student film competition. High school, college, and graduate students can submit shorts (up to 10 minutes in length) on subjects ranging from social justice to peace and freedom. DANCEWORKS IN PROGRESS

Santa Barbara Danceworks recently named New York choreographer and Bessie Award-winner Doug Elkins as its 2011 artist in residency. The Doug Elkins Dance Company’s month-long stay begins on February 22 and will include open-to-the-public rehearsals, master classes, and performances. For info, visit sbdanceworks.com.
