Support Your Local Coffee Shop

As a town that prides itself on remaining Walmart-Free, I am shocked and saddened that every local coffee house was overlooked by your readers for the Independent‘s “Best Of” Awards. Starbucks? Coffee Bean? Come on!! I think that every person who goes to one of these chains needs to take a week to try a local coffee shop. Not only are they run by wonderful people, but they are communities of neighbors, friends, coworkers, and families. I hope to see The French Press, Santa Barbara Roasting Company, The Daily Grind, or the Coffee Cat at the top next year.
