Los Padres National Forest officials announced plans to hold an open house at the San Marcos Fire Station at 5398 East Camino Cielo Road in Santa Barbara on January 15 from 8:00 am til 4:30 pm.
The fair is free and open to anyone seeking information about potential wildland firefighting jobs with the U.S. Forest Service.
Representatives of Los Padres National Forest fire staff will be sharing information and answering questions for members of the public interested in pursuing a career as a wildland firefighter. Information about vacant temporary and student positions will be available. Equipment such as fire engines and other specialized gear used by wildland firefighters in their work will also be on-hand.
