Maintenance On Rock Fall Protection Systems In Gaviota and Hwy 154

The following closures begin January 18

Caltrans will clean out, repair and modify a rock fall protection system to reduce the amount of rocks falling onto Hwy. 101 near the Gaviota Tunnel and on Hwy. 154 near the San Marcos Pass beginning Tuesday, January 18. Motorists can expect the following lane closures:

– The No. 2 (slow lane) on northbound Hwy. 101 will be closed on Tuesday, January 18 and Wednesday, January 19 from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Motorists can expect a delay not to exceed five minutes.

– There will be one way reversing traffic control on Hwy. 154 at the San Marcos Pass on Thursday, January 20 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Motorists can expect a delay not to exceed 15 minutes.

The contractor for this $400,000 project is AIS Construction of Carpinteria, CA. This project is expected to be completed in early April.
