Get your post-Film Festival fix for flicks this week at Israeli Film Night! On Wednesday, February 16, the Bronfman Family Jewish Community Ctr. (524 Chapala St.) will screen two short films from the Ma’aleh School of Television, Film and the Arts in Jerusalem. The unique movies reflect the school’s one-of-a-kind efforts to bridge the region’s palpable gap between traditional religious life and the modern secular world, all while honoring Jewish heritage. The films include:

The Orthodox Way by Ilan Eshkoli, a romantic comedy about dating in accordance with traditional orthodox conventions.

• A Shabbos Mother by Inbar Namdar, about three sisters with unshared religious beliefs at a gathering for the Jewish Sabbath.

The screenings begin at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a talk with a Ma’aleh faculty member and an alumnus. Admission is $5; please RSVP. Call 957-1115.
