SBCC established the School of Media Arts in 2001, combining a number of formerly separate disciplines for communications arts and technologies under one umbrella program. With over 2,600 students enrolling annually, a number of graduates have gone on to work for such companies as Lucasfilm, NBC, ABC, Disney, and Newsweek among many others. The local business community has also supported the program with student internships – 85 participate in the Media Arts Program alone — that integrate learning with hands-on skills.
