Like what you see around you? On Saturday, July 23, the S.B. chapter of the American Institute of Architects will hold a Housing S.B. Design Charette to discuss and examine the City of S.B.’s proposed updates to the General Plan concerning high-density housing. The charette will feature depictions of hypothetical high-density projects in real S.B. areas and talks by experts and community members about the potential impacts it may have on the aesthetics and character of S.B., in addition to sustainability and community issues. Alternative ways to meet the critical housing needs of a community will also be debated. The event runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the gymnasium of S.B. Junior High School (721 E. Cota St.). Call 963-8283 for more info.
