Seeing Stars (and Black Holes)

Go Black Hole-Hopping at This Week's Evening Exclusive Planetarium Show

Tue Aug 09, 2011 | 06:00am

Why go stargazing when you can go star-exploring? Experience the night sky like never before at the Evening Exclusive Planetarium Show this Saturday, August 13, at the S.B. Museum of Natural History (2559 Puesta del Sol Rd.). Held in conjunction with the museum’s twice-monthly Star Party viewing events, this weekend’s Evening Exclusive will focus on black holes. During a spectacular presentation in the Gladwin Planetarium, visitors will watch black holes swirl across the night “sky” as a museum rep gives an educational talk about dark stellar vortices—including how they form, where they can be found, and much more. The show starts at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.; tickets are $3-$6, plus museum admission. Call 682-4711 for more info.
