Trim Fat, Boost Profits
Doctors Will Discuss Business Health Needs over Lunch
“Fatten Your Profits by Trimming Your Middle” is the title of a presentation by Drs. Michael and Mary Dan Eades at an 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. September 28 luncheon at Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort, 633 East Cabrillo Boulevard, Santa Barbara.
The Santa Barbara chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, or NAWBO, is sponsoring the luncheon. Reservations are requited by Friday.
The Eades are authors of Protein Power. They are presenting their most current research on the easiest way to lose fat. They will discuss a dietary program they created for people of all ages to shed extra weight in six weeks.
Their research shows that when someone loses weight they earn more, have fewer sick days, and get more done. They say the bottom line is: Fitness positively affects your bottom line.
Even if you are fit, the Eades will share tips to get even healthier. Copies of their hardcover edition of The 6-Week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle signed by the authors will be available for purchase. To learn more about the Eades and their work see www.eatprotein.com.
The luncheon costs $35 members and for $45 non-members. Seating is limited. See www.nawbo-sb.com to register.
New Chamber Policy
Steve Cushman, president and CEO of the Santa Barbara Region Chamber of Commerce for almost the past three decades, announced a new policy this week.
Cushman said he will no longer allow non-chamber members to be interviewed on his Wednesday morning radio show, which has been on 1290AM for the past 25 years. Earlier this year, he interviewed nonmembers such as Solstice Celebration Executive Director Claudia Bratton and American Women in Communications Santa Barbara chapter President Kathleen Barry on his 11 a.m. show.
Cushman would not say if the reason for the policy change is because the chamber’s membership has been sinking from about 1,800 in 2007 to less than 1,400 today, according to chamber board members. However, the chamber still is the largest business organization of its kind on the South Coast.
