Free Flu Shot Clinics in Lompoc

The Santa Barbara Public Health Department along with the Santa Barbara County Medical Reserve Corps are providing free flu shots (including Flu Mist Vaccine) to all community members two years and older on Saturday, November 19 in Lompoc.

Each year the Public Health Department (PHD) exercises its mass vaccination plan in a different Santa Barbara community. These activities serve to familiarize residents with the mass vaccination clinic operation and to improve the county’s mass vaccination plan.

The November flu clinics provide a unique opportunity for residents to get a free flu shot to protect their health, and also help their community prepare for an emergency. This clinic is a joint effort between the Public Health Department and volunteers from the Medical Reserve Corps of Santa Barbara County.

Flu shots will be offered for ages two years and older. The Center for Disease Control is now recommending flu vaccinations to all children up to 18 years of age.

The event is funded through the federal Center for Disease Control (CDC) Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program. For more information regarding this even or other places to get flu shots in our area visit www.sbcphd.org or call the Santa Barbara Flu Hotline toll free at 805-681-4759
