UCSB Sorority to Host Public CPR Training
Instructors with Safety Matters, an authorized American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) Training Center, will offer the ASHI CPR and AED certification program. Successful participants will receive a two-year certification card.
The event will be held in room 1701 of the Theater and Dance building on the UCSB campus at 552 University Road with a morning session from 8:30 a.m. – noon and an afternoon session from 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. Each session can accommodate 50 participants. A $5 per person deposit will be required to secure a spot in the class and will be refunded at registration.
“We will be offering the CPR and AED program to show our support for national Heart Month,” explains Justin Haagen, owner and instructor with Safety Matters. “We’ll be teaching easy-to-learn CPR skills as well how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and are hoping to draw around 100 participants.”
