The Open Alternative School (OAS) has a new leader. Karen Macdonald will take over as a half-time elementary administrator at OAS on August 15 at a salary between $44,631-$50,450. She served as an elementary school principal in the Ukiah Unified School District. Parents at OAS, a parent-cooperative K-8 school of choice located behind La Colina Junior High, were shocked when superintendent Dave Cash reclassified former principal Alex Tashma as a teacher.
