Santa Barbara County has contracted with Diani Building Corp. for $902,000 to upgrade the Joseph Centeno Betteravia Administration Building in Santa Maria. The bid from Santa Maria-based Diani was the second-lowest received by the county, which determined the lowest bid—submitted by K.J. Cain, Inc.—was non-responsive because it did not include certain elements of the work scheduled to be done. The project will add 2,000 square feet of space, including a new lobby and restrooms.
