I am endorsing Leo Elovitz for the Buellton City Council. Leo served as a temporary city councilman for six months earlier this year while councilman John Connolly was deployed to Afghanistan. During that time, I attended the Buellton council’s bimonthly meetings, and observed that Mr. Elovitz performed his duties well. He suggested ways to resolve complex local issues, such as how to market Buellton to bring in more businesses. He asked questions about the city’s finances and stayed on track during the meandering discussions.
Mr. Elovitz has worked in the private sector: He knows how to plan and budget projects while staying on schedule and on budget. As a council member, he will focus on business development, and will be open to the concerns of local residents.
Mr. Elovitz has raised his family in Buellton and is active in local youth sports activities. He contributed to installing the first section of lawn at the local dog park. He is willing to give his time to improve the future of Buellton.
