INSPIRED: “Central Coast Sunset” by Ron Guthrie is featured in Shared Visions:
Plein Air & Studio, on view through May 31 at Divine Inspiration Gallery of Fine Art (1528 State St.).

Here’s a show that literally defies description at this point… because it’s still open for submissions. Confluence represents your chance to move from the couch to the wall — your couch, that is, and the wall at Westmont’s spectacular new museum of art. Los Angeles art critic Peter Frank is this year’s judge, the entry fee is very reasonable, and in addition to the excitement of being in a prestigious juried show, there’s the possibility of a sale, as all works must be purchasable. Otherwise it’s wide open — to residents of the tri-counties — with submissions being accepted online through April 17. Apart from a “no installations” policy, there are hardly any limitations on genre. That means video art and digital painting are okay. Thursday, May 16 - Saturday, June 22.. Call (805) 565-6162 or visit westmontmuseum.org/juriedshow.
