High Fire Season Begins

County Fire Asks Public to Maintain Vegetation Clearance Around Buildings

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department declared the beginning of the 2013 High Fire Season on Monday, April 29, at 8 a.m. Although fire season in Santa Barbara County is year-round, High Fire Season marks an increase in the amount of the County Fire resources allocated to vegetation fire response. During High Fire Season all burn permits for hazard reduction are suspended. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reminds residents to be vigilant during High Fire Season and to maintain vegetation clearance around structures.
