Hope Elementary School District may go ahead and sell a new round of bonds, said Superior Court Judge Donna Geck on 7/8. The district filed an active validation lawsuit allowing residents to challenge the bond sales after Trustee Patricia Hiles argued that any successive sales would violate 2010’s Measure L, which included language stipulating there would be “NO estimated increase in tax rate.” Only Hiles attempted to challenge the sales in court, but because she was a member of the board, the judge decided, she had no standing.
