Sean Misner Remembered

Thu Jul 18, 2013 | 12:00am

Hundreds gathered Monday night at Santa Ynez High School to honor fallen firefighter Sean Misner, a Santa Barbara County native killed with 18 other Hot Shot firefighters in a fast-moving wildland blaze 90 miles northwest of Phoenix. Misner, who was expecting his first child in April, was remembered as a devout Christian, big-time football fan, and beloved member of the community. Arizona and federal officials continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the Hot Shot crew becoming overwhelmed with little warning and no means of escape.
