Santa Barbara Open Streets

Santa Barbara Open Streets will be conducted on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Cabrillo Boulevard from Los Patos Way to State Street will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and portions of Anacapa Street, Helena Avenue, and Mason Street in the Funk Zone will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This event will repurpose these streets for recreational activities.

Santa Barbara International Marathon and Half Marathon

The Santa Barbara International Marathon and Half Marathon will be on Saturday, November 9, 2013. The event will start in the City of Goleta and transition through unincorporated areas of the County of Santa Barbara, finishing within the City of Santa Barbara. This will be the fourth year of the event. The Marathon will start at Dos Pueblos High School, 7266 Alameda Avenue, in the City of Goleta at 7:30 a.m. The Half Marathon will start at the Page Youth Center, 4540 Hollister Avenue, in the County of Santa Barbara at 7:35 a.m. The event will first enter the City of Santa Barbara at approximately 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Modoc Road & Via Senda (near S. La Cumbre Road). The route will take runners along Modoc Road, Las Positas Road, Cliff Drive, Oliver Road, Elise Way, Meigs Road, and Shoreline Drive. The event will terminate at Santa Barbara City College near the intersection of Loma Alta Drive and Shoreline Drive. Major road and lane closures will be required along the route. The estimated time for the reopening of all areas in the City of Santa Barbara is 1:35 p.m.
