Obamacare Testimonial
Although the number of enrollments for Obamacare has exceeded expectations in dramatic fashion, Republicans continue to downplay the result and still talk of using Obamacare as their main focus in the mid-term election in November. I think they have picked a losing issue. In spite of the flood of negativity in the media since the rollout started, I know that I and my family now have better insurance at lower cost.
I am retired and have a Medicare Advantage policy. The changes that Obamacare forced on the health insurance industry have resulted in my policy benefits steadily increasing at the same time as my costs have dropped. My monthly premium has dropped to $30, and my benefits include free membership in the YMCA, which would otherwise alone cost me more than my healthcare premium.
One of my daughters was paying $250 a month for minimum catastrophic health insurance. With Obamacare she has vastly better benefits for only $108 a month. Another daughter had to have two healthcare policies: one for her and her two teenage children and a separate policy with an $800 premium for her husband because he has a preexisting condition. With their new policy under Obamacare, they now pay only $600 for the entire family.
I hope that the public wakes up soon and votes Republicans out of office in November.
