The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department and the Air Pollution Control District issued an Air Quality Watch that is in effect for North County until Monday, April 28. This weekend’s forecast for high winds is expected to bring in elevated levels of dust particles, mainly in the Santa Maria area, and levels of particulate matter have already been recorded as surpassing the state standard this week. The Public Health Department is advising those in the North County area to be aware of the warning and act accordingly by restricting outdoors and dust-producing activities.
