It was very informative to read about the Believer’s Edge program that has a contract with the Sheriff’s Office. When Lyz Hoffman cites “concerns” about “level of religiosity” and “lack of female volunteers,” I can’t help but wonder why these concerns are not attributed to anyone? If a men’s religious group offers services, to whom is it a surprise that most volunteers are male or that they offer religious perspectives? If the group is seeking more female volunteers to “make female releasees feel more comfortable,” that is a good thing.
