I am surprised and disappointed at The Independent‘s cozying up to the oil industry with its opposition to Measure P. Measure P will protect our valuable water supplies by preventing the use of large amounts of this scarce resource in enhanced extraction techniques and polluting our ground water. Given the tremendous resources fossil fuel corporations bring to bear in influencing elections and elected officials, we must safeguard the public interest through this initiative. Vote “yes” on Measure P to protect our future!
