Sheriff’s deputies and detectives detained Sireena Dominguez of New Cuyama and Ashley Barnett of Santa Maria, both 25 years old, on Wednesday on suspicion of operating a felonious mail theft ring. The suspects were located and subsequently arrested at a ranch outside Cuyama after a weeklong search. The two women are suspected of stealing a large bag’s worth of mail from Highway 246 residences and using stolen credit card information to book two Buellton hotel rooms, from which they allegedly took two flat-screen televisions, two media charging stations, two alarm clocks, a microwave oven, and two baskets. Dominguez is suspected of forgery and is being held on $25,000 bail, while Barnett is charged with criminal conspiracy and held on $100,000 bail.
