Guadalupe “Lupe” Rabago will start his tenure as chief probation officer on January 19, replacing department veteran Beverly Taylor, who retired on Thursday, Santa Barbara Superior Court announced on Thursday.
Rabago currently holds the same position in an interim role for Imperial County; prior to assuming that job, he served as that county’s assistant chief probation officer. Starting in 1999, he held various positions in the probation department for San Diego County. Rabago earned a bachelor’s degree from UC Riverside and a master’s degree from National University in San Diego.
