The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report Wednesday morning that the signature Dos Pueblos High School Volkswagen bug and helmet, “Amy,” was found in the quad at San Marcos High School. According to a prepared statement from the Sheriff’s Office, the lock was busted at the car’s storage shed and the car had apparently been hotwired. Including damage to the front of the car, the tires had been deflated. Stating that they are treating the stolen mascot as a crime rather than a prank, authorities ask anyone with information to call the Sheriff’s Anonymous Tip Line at (805) 681-4171.

The stolen car was vandalized in the front.
