Based on an autopsy report Friday from the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Unit, it appears Kim Hamilton and Gregg Hamilton died from gunshot wounds to the head. Kim Hamilton was apparently murdered, and Gregg Hamilton apparently committed suicide Thursday morning in a home on the 2200 block of Alamo Pintado Avenue in Los Olivos, according to a Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office press release.
The Coroner’s death investigation will not be complete until toxicology reports are received in several weeks, the Sheriff’s Office said in the press release. The Sheriff-Coroner can’t yet confirm the cause of death, but the autopsy and other evidence indicate it was a murder-suicide.
