Micheltorena Project Wrong-Headed

While we support improved bicycle access and safety throughout Santa Barbara, we think that the Micheltorena Street project is wrong-headed. It does not properly balance local community interests with bicycling interests, nor does it offer a safe east-west crosstown bicycle route. Alternative routes on Sola would be safer for bike riders and have fewer adverse impacts for residents and businesses in the vicinity.

Attached is a copy of our letter to the mayor and City Council, which outlines our thoughts and concerns about the Micheltorena Street project.
