As preorders of the competitively priced Tesla Model 3 electric car approach 300,000 (according to founder Elon Musk’s Twitter feed), students with Santa Barbara City College’s Automotive Services & Technology Department will meet with Tesla Motors representatives on Wednesday, April 6, to talk about cutting-edge cars — a few of which will be on display — and career opportunities with the company. SBCC hopes to build a partnership with the local Tesla sales and service center to offer students apprenticeship opportunities, according to a statement from the college.
