Fourth District Supervisor Peter Adam will not run for a third four-year term next year and has announced his support of Bob Nelson, 39, who now serves as Adam’s chief of staff. Nelson announced his candidacy on 2/16 at an event at Orcutt Community Park. The seat will also be sought by Santa Barbara Taxpayers Association Executive Director Joe Armendariz, who has served on the Carpinteria City Council. Also opening in 2020 are the 1st and 3rd District seats now occupied by Das Williams and Joan Hartmann, respectively. The race will be on the California primary ballot in March 2020.
