Indy Short Story and Poetry Reading Kicks Off Tonight

Lovers of words, whether written or spoken, may want to check out tonight’s kick-off of Live to Dream, the Independent– sponsored short story and poetry reading series at cozy nightspot Elsie’s Tavern. Tonight’s event will also feature a local musician opening the show. Live to Dream is open to people ages 21 and up. Performed pieces should be 2-5 minutes long.

Because this an organized event not an open mike, anyone interested in reading original poetry or short stories should contact the host, Julie Bifano. Free snacks will be available and Elsie’s has an excellent selection of beer and wine. Get there early to grab a seat!

Future readings will be held on April 30, May 7, May 28, June 4, and June 25.
