Organizers of this year’s annual Team Bike Challenge – which takes place every June – are hoping that participants in the South Coast’s organized bicycle commuting contest log a total of 240,000 mile – the distance between the earth and the moon. The month-long bike-to-work event is organized by Traffic Solutions, which encourages commuters to use alternative transportation to and from work. The winning team gets a $5,000 bike shop certificate.
