The Mankind Project Santa Barbara, Pacifica Graduate Institute, Boys to Men Central California Coast and Wilderness Youth Project will host two performances of BoxTales Theatre Company's adaptation of the classic Brother's Grimm story Iron John.
This dynamic production is based, about a wild man and a prince. The story is a parable about a boy maturing into adulthood through meaningful rites of passage. The message of Iron John is that we all have a wealth of gold inside, and that one needs to identify, cultivate and protect. Iron John reminds us of our connectedness to nature, and the power of the imagination, and that ultimately we are at our best when we serve something bigger than ourselves. Featured in the cast will be Michael Andrews and Matt Tavianini.
Following each performance will be a Panel discussion with Maren Hansen, PhD.
