This reporter has misidentified two of the woman in these photos. Stephanie Cissell is responsible for "The Princess and the Frog," and Michelle-rene Marmolejo is responsible for "Crime and Punishment." I'm not sure about the others.
These women worked hard for this event. At least the paper could properly identify them.

$555,000 is far less than SBCC would have shelled out for defending a wrongful termination law suit. Which they would have most certainly lost.
On Serban Placed on Leave of Absence

The mandate of the newly elected trustees has been fulfilled and their political debt has been paid at a terrible price to SBCC.
To any reasonable person paying attention to the public comments last night the motivations of the two "camps" was obvious. Those who wanted Dr. Serban ousted were alternately motivated by self-interest, petty grudges, bruised egos, ambition, and an overinflated sense of privilege and entitlement. Those who supported Dr. Serban were motivated by a desire to work together to overcome petty divisiveness in the service the greater good of the college as a whole.
To those of you cheering what has happened, be sure to thank your unwitting mentors, the Tea Party. Your tactics and unfailing ability to hear and believe only what serves your personal and political agenda would make them proud.
