Got the post-Film Fest blues? Cheer up! From April 5-May 31,
UCSB Arts & Lectures will present Spring Cinema 2006, a series
of nine screenings of international films, as well as the
eight-film Human Rights Watch International Film Festival on May 19
and 20. All films will focus on issues of human rights in the
recent past and the years to come, and will range from the recent
George Clooney hit, Good Night, and Good Luck, to the lesser-known
The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till. Jessica Sanders and
Constantine Giannaris will be there to present their respective
films, After Innocence (May 11) and Hostage (May 15), and share
their commentary. ∆ All screenings will take place at 7:30 p.m. in
UCSB’s Campbell Hall, except the Human Rights film festival, which
will be held in the Lobero Theatre on the 19th and the Victoria
Hall Theater on the 20th. Tickets are $6 for general public and $5
for students. For more information, call Arts & Lectures at
