The 2006 Agriculture Production Report for Santa Barbara County was released this week andfor the first time everthe gross value totaled more than $1 billion. Strawberries, broccoli, and wine grapes held the top three spots. The report also indicated that more than 50 different types of crops yielded more than $1 million. Strawberries brought in $231 millionnearly $29 million more than last year. Fifty-eight organic farms in full compliance with the California Organic Products Act were registered last year.
