The Ty Warner Sea Center is in search of sea-loving volunteers to join its Volunteer Sea Crew. Participants will introduce museum visitors to fish, marine invertebrates, and marine mammals of the S.B. Channel. A three-session training commitment and six hours of work per month is required. • Help teach children the reading skills they need to succeed with the AmeriCorps volunteer program. AmeriCorps has 41 open positions for in-school literacy tutors ages 55 and older. The program requires a full-time commitment. Call 964-4710 x4404.

• Volunteers are needed to help with the Santa Barbara County Mother’s Day Half Marathon on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13. The race will benefit both the Breast Cancer Fund and the Breast Cancer Resource Fund of Santa Barbara. For info, email julie@breastcancerfund.org.
