More than 140 residents came out to the Goleta Water District meeting to voice their displeasure with the possibility of rising water prices. The district is looking to raise a fixed service charge as opposed to the commodity rate, which varies with the amount of water being used. Some residents proposed raising rates for agricultural users because, they argue, the agricultural users in Goleta are getting a much better deal than in surrounding cities. A decision won’t be made until the water district’s meeting on 7/9.
