Ricardo Juarez, the 14-year-old charged in the stabbing death of 15-year-old Luis Angel Linares during a March gang brawl in downtown Santa Barbara, was in court on 6/14 for a preliminary hearing. After a request from defense attorney Karen Atkins and agreement from prosecutor Hilary Dozer, the preliminary hearing date was delayed to July 5. Juarez is the youngest person ever to be charged as an adult with murder in Santa Barbara County.
