Santa Barbara Mayor Marty Blum sent a letter to California Assemblymember Pedro Nava on 6/20 asking him to support legislation that she hopes will preserve affordable housing by preventing the condo-ization of mobile home parks. Current law exempts landowners from having to mitigate the impact of displacing renters when they convert a mobile home park to other uses, so long as they offer their tenants the opportunity to purchase parcels. State Senate Bill 900 would repeal that exemption.
