Polish President Visits Vandenberg Base

One day after Polish President Lech Kaczynski met with President George Bush to affirm his support for Bush’s missile defense program, he visited Vandenberg Air Force Base, one of the key locations where interceptor rockets are launched. The missile defense program promises to blast incoming missiles out of the sky before they make it to American soil. Critics contend the costly program remains technologically unreliable. Kaczynski gave Bush a degree of international support new to the missile defense debate.
