On 7/30 radio personality and Santa Barbara News-Press columnist Dr. Laura Schlessinger was presented with the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service for her work with the nonprofit group Operation Family Fund during a ceremony held at the Pentagon. The group works primarily to help provide emotional and financial support to military families.
