Light Blue Line Project Worries Developers, Realtors
Santa Barbara’s Historic Landmarks Commission approved plans to stripe a 1,000 foot-long Light Blue Line throughout downtown Santa Barbara, depicting a 21-foot sea level rise if Greenland’s ice sheets were to melt because of global warming. The proposal has come under criticism in the Santa Barbara News-Press and from developers and realtors worried about diminished values on the ocean side of the line. The matter will likely be appealed to the City Council.
