The City Council unanimously granted more than $36,000 in funding for the RV Safe Parking Program to dispense permits and monitor lots that provide overnight parking for recreational vehicles. City law bans RV parking on streets at night but allows RVs to park in certain areas. By June 2008, the program will reportedly offer 80 permits to homeless persons who live in RVs.
