Brooks Firestone announced the sale of his wine company to William Foley of Foley Vineyards for an undisclosed sum. Foley gets 480 acres of land in the Santa Ynez Valley plus the Firestone name brand. It remains unclear if the sale will remove the conflict-of-interest finding that prohibits Firestone, a county supervisor, from voting on policy changes governing the uses of agricultural land covered by the Williamson Act, as he still owns 206 acres of such land.
